VIAM* has completed an investment with Zetl*, a digital lender based in Hong Kong and Singapore which utilises its proprietary AI-enabled APIs to enable partner platforms to offer fully digital business loans to their clients. Zetl provides a quick loan underwriting process for SMEs helping them fund monthly operating expenses by providing growth, payroll, and working capital financing. Through providing this capital, where banks cannot or will not, Zetl provides the underlying SMEs with the necessary capital and security to operate and grow their businesses which in turn increases local employment.
Zetl, which was established in 2018, offers flexible financing products, including revenue based and receivables/invoice financing, credit lines, payroll finance and term loans. By partnering with VIAM, the Company aims to expand its receivables/invoice financing lending business lines in Hong Kong and Singapore, ultimately benefiting SMEs in these countries.
“VI Asset Management’s experience in working with Asian SMEs to help finance their growth, combined with their understanding of the challenges SMEs in the region face in securing capital to grow their businesses, makes them a perfect investment partner for Zetl especially as we look to further expand our presence in Asia Pacific”, said Shan Han, CEO and co-founder.
“We are pleased to have worked in partnership with Zetl to provide a flexible financing solution that will allow them to pursue their business plan of lending to SMEs across Asia Pacific. We firmly believe that our focus on providing capital solutions to underfinanced and inefficiently financed SMEs across Asia Pacific, in conjunction with Zetl, presents us with a rich universe of companies to invest in as they turn to alternative financiers to support their growth ambitions”, said Roger Moh, Head of Capital Solutions of VIAM.
“The investment with Zetl demonstrates the team’s ability to originate, underwrite, structure and finance underserved SMEs across the region allowing us to provide attractive risk-adjusted returns for our investors”, said Sam Clothier, Executive Director of Business Development for VIAM.
