Kit Mak

Kit is a Managing Director and General Counsel at VIAM and a member of the Investment Advisory Committee.

Before joining VIAM in 2022, Kit was a Managing Director and General Counsel at EmergeVest, a Hong Kong-based private credit and private equity manager. Prior to EmergeVest, Kit was a Counsel at Paul, Weiss in Hong Kong, where he led their Finance Practice in Asia. He also practised finance law at Ropes & Gray in Hong Kong and Clifford Chance in London, Hong Kong and Beijing. Kit has extensive experience in leveraged buyouts, private credit/special situation transactions, real estate transactions and distressed/workout situations.

Kit holds a Master of Business Administration from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Leicester. He is admitted to practice law in Hong Kong, New York, England and Wales and is a non-practising Advocate and Solicitor in Singapore.
